The first GWO Offshore Wind Power Training Center in Northern Taiwan
In recent years, the Ministry of National Defense has continued to evaluate the development of various types of unmanned vehicles, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, shipbuilders and colleges and universities have been invested in them, the Taiwan Ship and its subsidiary, Taiwan Dynamic to go (2024) from the beginning of the year to carry out the independent research and development of military-grade unmanned ship program, the official release of the first unmanned ship on this (25) day. In the future, depending on the equipment, it will be used in offshore wind power, sea rescue and other fields, and it will also be able to perform tasks such as short-range air defense, drone countermeasures and suicide attacks in national defense.
Through remote control, the unmanned vessel smoothly accomplishes various navigational maneuvers. TSRC and its subsidiary, TSRC Dynamics, have been carrying out independent research and development of military-grade unmanned vessels since the beginning of 2024, and the first Endeavour Devilfish was officially released on the 25th.
Mr. Huang Zhenghong, Chairman of TSMC, said, "Our remote guidance system is self-developed and will not be subjected to others, and self-development can be self-expanded its functions.
The boat is 8.6 meters in length and 3.7 meters in width, with 2 outboards, and has a maximum speed of over 35 knots and can be tracked to reduce noise.
The Devilfish can be used for offshore wind power project guarding, sea rescue and harbor inspection, etc. In national defense, it can also carry out missions such as close-range air defense, drone countermeasures and suicide attacks.
From the battle structure to the construction, all of them are based on the experience of the Russian-Ukrainian War, in which the Ukrainian army was able to win by a small margin.
Huang Zhenghong, chairman of Taiwan Shipbuilding Corporation, pointed out that "Ukraine it uses unmanned ships to attack Russia's Black Sea fleet, its Admiral Makarov , can destroy it."
The hull is reserved for lightweight torpedoes, and the unique triple hull design is tailor-made for the Taiwan Strait environment.
Chen Cheng-hong, head of the Department of Systems and Marine Electrical and Mechanical Engineering at National Cheng Kung University, pointed out that "such a small boat is generally not quite able to withstand such a large wave on the water surface, even if it is made into a watertight condition, so after becoming a trimaran, they can be more effective in withstanding the waves.
In recent years, the Ministry of Defense has continued to evaluate the development of various types of unmanned vehicles, and the industry, government, and academia have been involved in them, not only to strengthen Taiwan's national defense and maritime mission execution capabilities, but also to demonstrate the country's determination and strength in independent research and development.
