Taiwan Ship Huanhai Completes Underwater Foundation Installation for Hai Long Wind Power ahead of Schedule Huanhai Emerald Ship

Ltd., a subsidiary of CSBC, announced today that following the completion of the installation of 219 foundation piles for the Halong Offshore Wind Power Project in June this year, the installation of casing-type underwater foundations has been completed, and a total of 73 underwater foundations have been completed ahead of schedule so far. Taiship Huanhai has its own self-constructed "Huanhai Jade" as the main construction vessel to carry out the installation, which demonstrates the strength of Taiwan's marine engineering and the results of the concerted efforts of the Hailong team.

The Hailong Offshore Wind Project is the largest offshore wind farm project ever undertaken by Taishun Huanhai, and the volume and weight of its underwater foundation components are the largest in Taiwan's wind farms. The project is located in the challenging waters of the Taiwan Strait, which requires comprehensive consideration of the weather window, meteorological conditions, and the risk of typhoons.

According to TSEC, the Hailong offshore wind power project is one of the largest offshore wind power development projects in Taiwan, with a total installed capacity of more than 1GW. TSEC will sign a contract with the project in 2022 to undertake a full range of marine engineering services, including foundation piles, cased submerged foundations, offshore substations, and wind turbine transportation and installation, and will carry out the installation operation from 2024 onwards.

Taiship Huanhai said that the full-swing floating crane ship "Huanhai Jade" as the main installation of the Sea Dragon project ship, so far, including the wind farms of the Sea Dragon project, has completed the installation of nearly 1.5GW of wind farms in the Taiwan Strait installation capacity.

Tim Kittelhake, CEO and Project Director of Sea Dragon, said that the cased underwater foundation installation operation demonstrated amazing efficiency, with the fastest record being the completion of three foundations in two days; the high degree of tacit understanding between the "Around the Sea Emerald" and the Sea Dragon team enabled the completion of 73 underwater foundations ahead of schedule.

Mr. Tseng Kuo-cheng, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CSBC Huanhai, said that this is not only another milestone for CSBC Huanhai and Huanhai Jade, but also proves that Taiwan's local maritime engineering energy has greatly moved forward, laying a deep foundation for the development of Taiwan's maritime engineering national team (Taiwan Marine Team).
